ICON 4x4 has unveiled a unique version of their New School Edition TR based on a 1952 Thriftmaster 3100. The ICON New School Edition directly complements the company's already popular Old School custom series, which focuses on retro-themed design details.

For decades, the Thriftmaster has been widely celebrated as a durable, utilitarian mode of transport. ICON has evolved the classic with state-of-the-art upgrades that have been subtly integrated throughout the truck's design.

"Our New School Thriftmaster presents a disarming duality found in all the very best sleepers. At first glance, this is a beautifully restored 1952 pick-up, but underneath it all is a vehicle with power and handling that is absolutely off the charts," said ICON 4x4 founder Jonathan Ward.

"These New School Edition trucks are exciting in that they give ICON the opportunity to creatively build on the Thriftmaster's vintage style while cleverly incorporating the best of the best present-day elements that go into a truly one-of-one build. My favorite part is that our first New School truck can easily keep pace chasing down a modern-day sports car through a canyon, no problem at all."

The New School Thriftmaster is powered by a GM Emissions certified, 440-horsepower Erod 6.2-liter LS3 engine that delivers 430 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

ICON's added Brembo brakes for optimal stopping power.

The Art Morrison chassis sits on hand-built, four-wheel independent suspension with ICON's custom 18-inch forged artillery style wheels which allows enough space to showcase the six-piston Brembo brakes.

The Thiftfaster's truck bed consists of rare Shou Sugi Ban wood finished in a walnut stain. The burnt wood blends with the overall color scheme of the ICON Thriftmaster as the exterior is coated in a Chalk White paint from Porsche.

The truck's interior is accented by an original black chrome trim from ICON. The specialized pieces can be found on the door handles, knobs and individual bolts.

The ICON Thriftmaster wears unique, acid edged badging on the tailgate and hubcaps.

The Thriftmaster's interior has also been upgraded with a microsanded top-grade leather from Moore & Giles. A high-performance reduced diameter Tri-5 steering wheel, on a tilt/collapsible steering column along with creature comfort controls can be found below the dash.

ICON added custom sun visors, a rearview camera, remote-powered door locks and power windows to the model. The truck also features LED lighting under the seat and dashboard, LED backlit rearview mirrors, ICON gauges with the company's lizard logo and a Pioneer 8600NEX sound system.

The ICON Thriftmaster starts at $285,000.
