GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The Grand Rapids Housing Commission received a national award recognizing its work to promote affordable housing.

The commission received a 2022 Award of Merit from the National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials, an advocacy group that supports affordable housing nationwide.

The award recognizes the commission’s work to develop Antoine Court Apartments, a 50-unit, $13.5 million development that opened in October at 901 Division Avenue S.

“The Housing Commission is committed to expanding access to affordable housing for veterans, seniors, people with disabilities and all low-income families in our community,” said Lindsey Reames, the commission’s executive director. “We are working with the City, HUD, local nonprofit developers and affordable housing advocates to continue to find innovative ways to promote housing equity.”

There are no openings at Antoine Court Apartments, but residents can fill out an application at grhousing.org and be placed on a waitlist.
